おもしろい・omosiroi = interesting/funny/good

You can use this to say:

He is an interesting person.
That movie is very funny.
Her theory is very good/interesting.

"Omosiroi" originally means "in front of you is white/bright/clear". When the view in front of you is pretty, that's clear, bright and pleasant. Now, "pleasant" includes "interesting", "good", "fun/funny" as well.

"Omosiroi" is a very widely used expression. It covers everything interesting, amusing, funny, and good. Usually, you would know when someone says "Omosiroi", the person means "interesting", "funny", or "good". But sometimes, one asks "do you mean "funny" omosiroi or "interesting" omosiroi?" to clarify.

"Omosiroi" is a good praising word.
